You who loves my soul
Orginal Source: Yedid Nefesh by Rabbi Elazar Azriki

Lover of my soul, merciful Lord, bring me close to You.
I will run to you like a gazelle;  to prostrate before Your glory
For Your companion ship is purer than any fine taste or flavor.

Perfect, pleasing, radiance of the world, my soul desires Your love.
Please, God, heal her now, as You show her the pleasantness of Your light.
Now, strengthen and heal her, and she will be for You an eternal servant.

Ancient one, may your mercies be made manifest aroused ,
And have compassion on the child of Your lover.
For it is so long that I have faithfully waited, to see the glory of Your strength
Please, my God, the desire of my Heart, hurry and do not hide!

Please, my beloved, reveal yourself and spread over me
the shelter of Your peace.
Fills the world with the light of your glory, so that we may rejoice Let me be happy in You.

Be quick, my lover, for the time has come, and have mercy on me for all time.

You Really Want To Talk?

Lets try and talk about it, come sit here
Our problems can be solved in just a short while.
You little fool, no solution is near
Now please wipe off that distasteful smile.

Indeed we know that it is just for you;
That is why you have come to us today,
Your insincerity piercing right through
In place of the words that you wish to say.

Take your halo and your blemished white doves,
We will not tolerate your ignorance
In the place of my home and ones I love,
Your “wisdom” bears no significance

When we will return to the times of old?
Restore our kingdom, the palace of gold.

Lost in the Crowds

The crowd is slowly moving. Shuffling along the path
that leads them to nowhere. But they continue to move
under the flaming sky as planes soar over their heads
shaking the ground they stand on as they wait to climb
aboard. And the little boy is crying because he does not
have any room to play.

For his home and his comfy bed, and the freedom to play
he longs for.  Not until the end of the path.
But where is it, he does not
know. even as the people move
forward and forward, some even beginning to climb
onto the platform where they are being counted by the head

Counting as they enter: one thousand two hundred and sixty seven heads
of men with out their cigars ,women without their lipstick and children who cant play
and then comes the ascent, slowly climbing
huffing and puffing until it attains a steady rhythm on the path
wheels turning, engine churning his stomach in knots
for days on end it continues to move

But now it has stopped, and the people begin to move
The young boy is lost amongst the thousands of other heads
and it is not too long before until the tears can not
be held back. If this is the game of life, he does not want to play.
He feels a smack from behind, shoving him onto the undesired path
that takes him to the stairs stairs and he begins to climb

Unsteadily, he is climbing
his arms so frail and small, his short legs weakly move.
He did not chose this path
Yet he will still forge ahead
This horrid game I can no longer play
To continue on? I simply can not.

But choosing to give up is not
the the right decision and he continues to climb
and the tunes begin to play
they sweep him off his feet and move
him around in circles, kissing his forehead
welcome back our boy, you have chosen the right path

thats brought you to your home.

The Trix Rabbit

This hare was created, through artificial processes, by the known chemist Dr. Erwin Kellog, who despite his old age always felt like a child inside. In combining both organic and inorganic compounds, Kellog successfully engineered this creature. The Trix Rabbit is most widely recognized for its plush white fur, bulging bug-like eyes, abnormally large limbs, namely its hands and feet, as well as its exceptionally long and elegant ears which came as a result of using a rare inorganic compound, Ceric Ammonium Sulfate, a dihydrate reagent in the engineering process. The rabbit took on strange habits that stunned its makers. The engineers noticed that the rabbit would reject carrots in favor of artificially manufactured pellets of food that contained various colorings and flavors. Dr. Kellog inquired as to what these artificial pellets were, and he found to them be breakfast cereal named “Trix” after the sneaky tricks and secrets they used to create these pellets of food. The creators of “Trix” were quite delighted that their product was reaching far more consumers than they expected. They requested that the rabbit’s picture be advertised on their product, thus the rabbit earned its reputable name “The Trix Rabbit”. Because the rabbit received so much publicity, he became much more haughty in nature, expecting attention at every moment, and did not tend to share with others. The rabbit had to be placed on “Trix” starvation until he could demonstrate that he can act towards others with proper manners and social graces. This explains why originally, the Trix rabbit did not have a wide smile constantly spread across his face, but once he learned how to treat others properly, he became quite the jolly creature. As the product gained popularity on breakfast tables, children became far more possessive of their “Trix” and were seen accosting the rabbit, telling him that he is not welcome to share their food because “Trix are for kids”.

Coffee Break

She hands me my order
The styrophoam cup is red
Ginger’s in the air

Global Warming

Ginger is in the air
But there is no frosted ice
I want my mittens

On the First Night

Here come the gifts
The man with the potbelly
Oil is frying

Spin Around

They go in circles
Roughing out what was once smooth
The children all smile
